DeanWell Week 2 of the FUT Birthday Promo is well and truly underway and it seems we are ending this birthday celebration with an absolute bang! Of course we have the return of that deadly Roma trio from Fifa 15 in the form of Doumbia, Gervinho and Ibarbo! We’ve all been granted the opportunity to earn a “free” version of each of these items by simply playing the game alongside a paid evolution. There is also versions of these items in packs too!
Onto the SBC section for today and we have a huge SBC released today in the form of FUT Birthday Yaya Toure! This one is going to be tough to remain unbias as I am a huge fan of Yaya but I am absolutely looking forward to picking up this card! I am not however looking forward to the 18 segments attached to it.. But here we go!
Now this is the fourth version we have had of Toure this year and this is an absolutely huge boost from the Winter Wildcard. A swap in secondary playstyle where Powershot has been replaced by Pinged Pass. An overall boost of +3 along with a boost in skill moves to 5* skills which makes him 5*/5*. This card is looking absolutely juiced. I just hope he performs as well in-game as the card looks.
The chemstyle here would either be the Shadow or the Anchor. For me I opted for the Anchor as due to this card not having any other defensive playstyles outside of Bruiser, I wanted to max out the Defending and Physicals.

A whopping 18 squads in total to complete this SBC with a month to get it completed. A price tag of 2.5 million coins. This one is quite poorly priced for me and the only saving grace for this item will be how he performs in-game.
How did he perform in-game?
+ Shooting was by far the standout stat for me as utilizing that 98 shot power felt overpowered. Pardon the pun. But he had an absolute rocket on him that the keepers could not stop.
+ Physically, he is absolutely solid. Maxed-out strength made this guy an absolute brick wall.
+ Passing was also decent but particularly the pinged pass. He could ping the ball from the half way line and put the attackers through on goal.
+ Positionally, he impressed as he maneuvered the pitch a lot. He’d quickly track back to stop counter-attacks but would also press quite high and get involved in the attack.
+ Tackles as you would expect were incredibly effective. He overpowers the opposition with ease and forces players off the ball with his standing tackles.
/ Dribbling on this card however, felt quite off. I feel it comes down to the body type but he felt incredibly stiff when moving around with the ball.
Yaya Toure - Cop or Flop?
As much as I really wanted this SBC to be worth the pickup, at 2.5 million coins he just feels incredibly overpriced. To put into perspective, yesterday we had that Ethan Mbappe SBC that came in at a fraction of the price and performed at near enough the same level. Don’t get me wrong, you would expect to see a premium price on a card like this. But at this stage of the game, there are just far too many options out there which makes it incredibly difficult to justify a highly priced SBC.
This is a great item but the price has killed it. Save your fodder and your coins.
