Grassroot Greats has been a top-notch promo to say the least but we quickly move on to what will hope to follow in it’s predecessor’s footsteps. The Fantasy FC Promo is here and if previous years is anything to go by.. I am hyped for this promo.
The SBC for this promo however is none other than Joao Felix! He’s certainly got himself a nice-looking card and of course, with the theme of this promo, it can only get better! So how do the upgrades work? Well direct from the EA Sports FC website:
How does the Upgrade Mechanic Work?

Felix previously of course had his Flashback item earlier in the year. From that item, we have seen a +2 overall which of course is quite likely to at least achieve some of them as Milan look to be slowly finding their form. Additionally, this item has also been given the trickster playstyle+. Not one i’m overly much of a fan of but for sure a very effective playstyle alongside technical for the right player.
The chemstyle I would probably suggest and the one I opted for was the Hunter. Get a big boost on Pace and Shooting as this guy is fairly versatile in that he can also play striker. So if you wanted to move him more central like I would, these boosts would be key.

12 segments in total for this Fantasy Felix card with a staggering 1.2 million coin pricetag attached to it. This is a real expensive SBC and potential upgrades aside.. This card needs to impress in-game in order to be worth it.
How did he perform in-game?
+ Dribbling of course was incredible on this card. Utilizing the Technical+ made working through the defense an absolute dream. And if unlike myself you can utilize the trickster efficiently, he’ll be unstoppable on the ball
+ Pace was real nice, blended with the dribbling allowed him to be very fast and agile on the ball.
+ Shooting was also impressive as he has a real rocket of a shot on him that always hit it’s mark.
+ Positionally he was solid. Always moving out into space to support the build-up play and create some great chances.
+ Passing was exactly what you would expect. Does a great job at providing quick and incisive passes that very often lead to an assist/goal.
/ Although his physicals have has a fair upgrade, his strength could at time let him down and allow him to be forced off of the ball.
Felix - Cop or Flop?
This Felix item was real nice in-game. But the price tag for me is really hard to justify. Assuming this card get’s zero upgrades through the upgrade path.. This is an SBC to avoid. However with some of these potential upgrades, I think this card could potentially end up being one of those that players soon come to regret not completing. But that is a big IF.
This card relies heavily on Milan’s form being solid going forward and currently their form has been a little rocky. Currently Felix is yet to gain his first goal contribution for Milan in league games so this raises a big concern. Currently, I would say this SBC is not worth the gamble. It’s a great item but the price is just too high.
Verdict = FLOP
